A former member of the Florida House of Representatives, Joseph Arnall currently serves as the President of Arnall & Associates, a lobbyist and government relations firm with offices and operations in Florida and Georgia. He also holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Southeastern Legal Foundation, a nationally recognized legal firm for conservative issues. In addition to governmental affairs, Joseph Arnall works with municipalities on correcting flawed funding arrangements in their pension plans to help them become solvent. He also works with small businesses to help them develop and to better their relationships with various governmental entities. Over the course of his career, Joe Arnall has received numerous professional recognitions and appointments for his achievements in politics and his dedication to community.
Prior to founding Arnall & Associates, Joseph Arnall attended The Citadel and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Sewanee: The University of the South. Following college, he established a career as an insurance and real estate professional, during which he achieved lifetime membership in the Million Dollar Round Table and received the Chartered Life Underwriter designation. In 1988, Joe Arnall was elected to the Florida State Legislature for the state’s 18th congressional district, which includes sections of southeast Duval County and northeast St. John’s County. In addition to serving as a State Representative until 2000, Joe Arnall also sat on several legislative committees, including the Utilities and Communications Committee, which he chaired from 1996 to 1998; the Rules and Calendar Committee, which he chaired from 1998 to 2000; the Health Care Services Committee; the Insurance Committee; and the Finance and Taxation Committee.
Some of the highlights of Joseph Arnall’s legislative career include his appointment as a Republican Whip from 1988 to 1992, his selection for the Legislator of the Year award by the Florida Retail Grocers Association, and his designation as a Most Effective First Term Republican in 1990. Joe Arnall is the recipient of numerous community accolades, such as the Jacksonville Association of Life Underwriters’ Outstanding Community Service award and the City of Jacksonville’s Protector of the Home Rule Award. Joe Arnall also served as President of the nonprofit First Coast Family and Housing Foundation, Inc., through which he focused on providing affordable housing and social services to Floridians.
